However, there are some topics that deserve a bit more attention and explanation even the taboo ones you might not think to Google before your session. Today, we’re talking about floating and vaginas.
Although this isn’t common, it can be uncomfortable enough to make someone hesitant to float again. We want to address this so you can float confidently and comfortably.
There are several potential causes for vaginal stinging in the Float Pod, and if you're reading this, you're definitely not alone. Here are a few helpful tips to keep in mind:

Avoid shaving or waxing for at least 24 hours before floating…this is crucial!Even if you don’t notice any cuts after some grooming, you’ll likely feel irritation once you’re in the float tank. To save yourself discomfort, come as you are, with all your natural hair intact!

Vaginal dryness occurs when decreased estrogen levels reduce moisture in the vaginal area, which is commonly seen during menopause, pregnancy, or as a side effect of certain medications. This can lead to mild irritation, and the high salinity of a float tank might make it more noticeable. If you’re concerned about dryness, you can use the lubrication jelly ointment provided in each float room to help create a protective barrier.
Hormones making tidal waves but you just wanna float?
Hormonal fluctuations are a natural part of a woman’s life, influenced by factors like menstrual cycles, illness, and age. If you find that discomfort tends to occur at certain points in your cycle, try scheduling your float at a different time to see if it enhances your experience.
Chemistry Class You Didn’t Sign Up For: pH, Vaginas, and Floating! The body’s natural chemistry plays a role in how you experience floating.The pH of the vagina typically ranges from 3.8 to 4.5, while the float tank solution has a pH between 7.2 and 7.8. This difference in pH levels can sometimes cause discomfort or stinging, especially for those who are more sensitive or prone to irritation.
